Life is full of the unexpected. At times, the only thing you can do is just breathe.
For twenty-four year old Cassandra Anderson, life hasn’t been easy. Haunted daily by her own demons and memories of the past, she suffers from panic attacks and questionable anal-retentiveness. The motto she lives by is “Trust no one. Fear nothing.”
Bartender Lucas Daniels comes into her life like a whirlwind. Hot enough to melt wax, he is tantalizing, sometimes overbearing, and quite possibly one of her weaknesses. Lucas, having secrets of his own, understands pain all too well.
Only time can tell what the future holds for them. Will Lucas cause Cass to question everything? Will she be drawn to him or will they end in resentment?
Due to the nature of this book, it is only recommended for mature audiences. 18+
I just loved this book. Chelle Craze you did a wonderful job with this book it’s so good. This book had me crying for all that Cass has been through in the past and her life as it is now. But she also has the spunkiest attitudes and I laughed and laughed.
Cass had a horrific event happen to her when she was younger by her mom’s boyfriend. Since then she has a lot of anxiety problems and night terrors. Dar is her best friend and only family since her mom’s disappearance. She met Dar at a therapist’s office after Dar experienced a traumatic event similar to her own. They became instant friends who took care of each other.
When Lucas first saw Cass he knew he just wanted to know her more. Since he was friends with Dar he talk her into introducing them since Dar was very protective over her. Dar talked Cass into going out to celebrate her birthday with her to the bar which happens to be the one Lucas owned. When Lucas saw her he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He had a spark towards her that just wouldn’t go away. He knew there was something in her eyes that was sadness but he was determined to change that.
It was hard for Cass to let Lucas in. But through Lucas’s presentence Cass managed to let him in and share with him the demons of her past. Cass had a lot of trust issues and anxiety with giving herself to someone. But Lucas helped calm her and showed her what real love was like.
This story was just magical and Lucas niece was just so wise beyond her years. She helped mold and vanish the fear that Cass had inside.
This is definitely a must read. Can’t wait till the second book comes out.
